Phase 1

Router Preparation

1

Access the router

Connect via Winbox or 192.168.88.1. Log in as admin (no password by default).

2

Enable the API service

Go to IP → Services and enable API on port 8728.

/ip service enable api
3

Set an admin password

Go to System → Users → admin. Set a strong password and share it with the shop owner.

4

Note the router's IP

Confirm the local IP (usually 192.168.88.1) — this is what MikroPilot will use to connect.

Do not skip enabling the API. MikroPilot cannot connect without it.

Phase 2

Hotspot Configuration

1

Run the Hotspot Setup wizard

IP → Hotspot → Hotspot Setup. Select wlan1, set the network and IP pool.

2

Set a DNS name

Give the login page a friendly name (e.g. hotspot.local) so users see it in the browser.

3

Clear existing users

Delete any default users — MikroPilot manages all accounts.

/ip hotspot user remove [find]
4

Test the login page

Connect a phone to the WiFi. Opening any URL should redirect to the hotspot login.

Apply the hotspot to the wireless interface only, not the full bridge.

Phase 3

MikroPilot App Setup

1

Log in to MikroPilot

Open the app and sign in with your installer credentials. Be on the same network as the router.

2

Add the router

Tap Add Router. Enter the IP, port 8728, and admin credentials. Tap Connect.

3

Assign to the shop

Link the router to the shop's account by their email or account ID.

4

Confirm hotspot is detected

The hotspot name and status should appear on the dashboard.

Assign the router to the shop before you leave — this creates the commission link to your account.

Phase 4

Plans & Vouchers

1

Create a voucher plan

Plans → Add Plan. Set a name, duration, speed limit, and price.

2

Test a voucher

Generate one voucher and redeem it on a real device through the hotspot login.

3

Show the owner

Walk them through creating a voucher themselves so they can do it independently.

Start with 2–3 plans (e.g. 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week) so the shop is ready to sell from day one.

Phase 5

Handoff & Support

1

Hand over credentials

Give the shop owner the router IP, admin password, and their MikroPilot login — in writing.

2

Quick dashboard tour

Show active sessions, voucher list, and plan management. Keep it to 5 minutes.

3

Leave your contact

Give the owner your number or messaging app. You're on call online for the first week.

4

Log the installation

Record it in your installer dashboard to finalise the commission link.

Confident shop owners stay subscribed longer — which keeps your commission coming.

Installation complete

Once you've logged the installation in your dashboard, your 20% commission is locked in. You'll be paid instantly the moment the shop's plan purchase is confirmed.
